I started this painting using bright orange, yellow and blue. I poured the paints as though I was pouring my heart and soul out onto the canvas waiting for some kind of answer. I did not know what I was doing. I just wanted to get the paints out and see the colours merging into one another. The result is here, the first layer. I then went back a couple of times and changed the mood by adding other colours, white, red... somehow it just felt as though it was incomplete. After a few days I went back to it and decided to cool the colours down and add more blue. This was when I could visualise the painting. The colours reminded me of beautiful sunsets I have seen and experienced. That's it I would paint a silhouette of a place where one would go to be alone and collect their thoughts, a place of Solace, which is also the name of the painting.
Here is the final piece. I hope you enjoy it. It is acrylic on canvas, size: 420mm x 297mm, or A3.
As a treat I have put a link here for you to listen to a song called 'Solace' by Fyfe, a lovely song complemented by a very artistic video.
