It has been a long time since my last blog, but I have been very busy getting my life in order. My husband, myself and my son have all started new jobs and needed time to adjust and settle into them.
I am now working with Special Needs children and love every minute of it. Do not get me wrong it is very challenging and demanding on the body and mind, but it is one of the most rewarding jobs I have ever done. When I work with these children I feel like their minds are busy processing their environment and the world just seems to encroach in on them. They have no personal space in their minds where they can be at peace and collect their thoughts to come to some kind of calm place.
Sometimes I wish I had a magic wand that would make their lives easier and make the human race worthy of their presence. We do not understand their condition and try to mould them into ourselves, but we cannot, because they are not us, they have come to this planet with their own perception of life and another way of looking at things. Perhaps we should change ourselves to appreciate their angle on this world. Maybe we are the ones who need help.
Life is now very different for us, but we have reached a place where we are comfortable a place of calm and clarity. On this note here is my latest painting called 'Equanimity' meaning calmness of mind. I thought it was appropriate for this moment in my life. It is an abstract painting made with acrylics on canvas. Enjoy :)
Keep on Smiling
