I am a self-taught artist who loves and appreciates art and photography. Both capture moments of life with great meaning and beauty.

A photo or a piece of art can set off all kinds of emotions. I believe that looking at paintings and images can promote healing too, a form of colour therapy.

Anyway, I hope my vision of my time on this planet can give you all some form of joy.

Happy New Year 2021

Last year was difficult for everyone. I wrote a blog talking about what I had experienced in 2020. Well what did I learn from last year? I recognised the fragility of humankind and also its strength, what was important to me and how if we stick together we can accomplish anything. I hope this year we can start our lives from a different perspective, learning from our past and amending our future as a result.

I pray that we come together as one, without judgement, after all we are all we have and if we cannot live together and respect each other’s right to sovereignty over our own lives, allow individuals to have an opinion that we may not agree with then how are we going to move forward as one? Surely an evolved human race would be a patient, calm, understanding and accommodating one, a society that loves and supports one another so that we can be the best version of ourselves.

I wish for the best for all of you, I choose abundance in freedom, love, health, success and happiness for everyone. Look after yourselves and one another.

Much love
Samira 😊

Madhubani Art-Peacock

Madhubani Inspired-Peacock

In my last blog, back in April, I wrote and posted about Madhubani/Mithila Art. Well running with the same theme, here is another painting which I have completed some time ago now, but never got round to posting a blog about it because life happens.

Hope you like it.

By the way, the Madhubani-Fish painting is displayed in Manchester at Healthy Spirit.  If you wish to find out more about this kind of style then you can click on the link here-

The Serengeti

I have always been fascinated with wildlife and the vast ecosystem this wonderful planet of ours has to offer. I was inspired to paint the Serengeti after I was asked to show a class of infant children how to paint a silhouette of an elephant with a sunset. I instantly thought of the Serengeti and the wonderful animals that live in such a harsh land and how they manage to survive nevertheless.

Here is my latest painting, ‘The Serengeti’.  This vast plain in East Central Africa, spans about 12,000 square miles and derives its names from the Maasai Language that means ‘Endless Plains’.

At the moment I have been experimenting with different mediums in art such as colour pencils, pastels and pen. This is given me an opportunity to push myself beyond my limits in a short space of time, producing art work, that I have to say, I am quite proud of. I will show the new works soon.

Hope you like it.
See yah

You're Not Alone

The New Year is the bringer of possibilities and opportunities in work and your personal life. However, for some it can be the coming of challenges that need to be met. This year has been particularly difficult as quite a few close family members have passed away in such a short time.

Many people believe that when you pass away you are gone forever. Some think that they are still present even though we cannot see them. I suppose this will always remain a mystery. I, however, think that our memories and the love in our hearts keeps them alive and close to us, almost as though they are still present. When you feel lonely you can always tap into special moments that can put a smile on your face.

Often those who have moved on are thought to be our guardian angels, keeping watch over us whilst we journey on in this world. It is with this in mind that I have painted this picture to show that ‘You’re not alone.’
Here are the stages of the painting….

Love and blessings
