I am a self-taught artist who loves and appreciates art and photography. Both capture moments of life with great meaning and beauty.

A photo or a piece of art can set off all kinds of emotions. I believe that looking at paintings and images can promote healing too, a form of colour therapy.

Anyway, I hope my vision of my time on this planet can give you all some form of joy.

The Colour Series - Violet - I AM

A few weeks ago I started the final painting in my Colour Series. At the same time I was painting another one which I have already blogged about last week, the Indigo painting called 'Nearly there'. So I stopped and completed the Indigo painting first. Here is a link to it below, just click on the button:
Indigo
Now I will talk about the final painting, Violet. The violet chakra is the seventh crown chakra. According to some beliefs, it is linked to the highest guidance, to creation and the universe. Leonardo Da Vinci suggested that prayer is ten times more powerful while sitting in the violet light. I have not tried it myself, but it must have worked for him.

Violet is associated with many positive meanings e.g. spirituality, creativity, imagination and passion.  Bravery and courage as well as wealth and luxury are also  connected to this colour. On the polar opposite to this side it can be arrogant, indulgent, pompous and cruel.

I have decided to loosely base my painting on the chakra meanings, but with my own interpretation.

The Indigo painting called 'Nearly There', showed a person escaping to the surface to discover a whole different way of living, like how a fish would feel if it could spend time out of water. It would be a totally different environment and experience, even another dimension. This final painting is the person reaching to the surface and evolving into the higher dimension by changing into pure energy, linked to all that is, separate yet a part of everything. Merging with the universe and existing as ' I AM'.

So now you understand the meanings behind my paintings. I hope you enjoyed the journey. I have not yet decided what I will be doing next, but trust me you will be the first to know.

Here are the stages of the painting. Take care, enjoy each day as best you can. Until next time.... :)

The Colour Series-Indigo

Indigo, if you look at the chakra system corresponds to the 6th chakra or the third eye. It represents the doorway to the higher mind. Here is where your psychic abilities are enhanced so you are able to perceive more and your intuition is awakened.

Indigo is the colour of night sky when we are asleep and accessing the gateway to the dream world where we are introduced to other realms of reality and awareness. This is when our soul plays and controls our emotions through our dreams, where we have a chance to make sense of our material world, where introspection takes place.

I have named my painting 'Nearly There', to symbolise the struggle to disconnect with this world and connect with your soul. It is like being surrounded by a deep ocean where sometimes it can be so over whelming that you feel like you are drowning amongst the chaos and distractions of this life.  It shows a person swimming to the surface, metaphorically representing them trying to connect with the higher self. The light is the knowledge which awaits to reawaken their spirit and free their mind,  the true breath of life.

Here are the stages of the paintings. As usual they will be followed by the finished painting. I hope that you find peace within yourselves and moments of bliss light up your journey on this planet. From my heart to yours.

Love and Peace

P.S.

If you remember I started the Violet painting on my previous blog, but I had this on the go too and realised that this should be the next one to exhibit. Stay tuned for the unveiling of my violet painting, the last in the series. Bye.... :)

The Colour Series - Blue, ' Express Yourself'

8/5/2014

This is the Fifth Chakra of the spiritual body. Sky blue is a calming, soothing colour that gives the impression of peace and tranquillity.  It is self-knowledge and personal expression that gives the individual a voice to be able to speak their truth.  It is faith and trust and acknowledgment of the authentic self.

Blue is an intuitive colour full of creative energy that takes into account subtleties from the spiritual realm and articulates them into
existence on the physical plain through art, music, writing etc...

I have decided to call this painting 'Express Yourself', as it is relevant due to the expressive nature of this colour which influences the throat to help you vocalise your inner truth to the world.
I have used the wave form of the water to symbolise the sound wave emerging from your mouth as they move and flow forwards crashing and forming ripples that can influence changes within your environment.

Water, for me, also signifies transformation and the ebb and flow of life. The Taoist consider water as an aspect of wisdom as it takes on the
form in which it is held. It also has the path of least resistance.

So let's see the stages of my painting with the finished result at the end.

Enjoy the rest of your week !!

Dear friends,

I have not been too well over the past week so I will be brief. Here are the first few stages of my new painting in 'The Colour Series'. It is going to be blue and the theme for this painting is water. The painting has not been named as yet, but I am sure it will come to me. Although if you have any suggestions then please share, I would love to hear from you.

Hopefully, as soon as I am finished, I will put the blog up, as long as I am feeling better. Otherwise it may end up being next Thursday 8th May.

Take care of yourselves and each other....

Love and Peace

Samira :)
