I am a self-taught artist who loves and appreciates art and photography. Both capture moments of life with great meaning and beauty.

A photo or a piece of art can set off all kinds of emotions. I believe that looking at paintings and images can promote healing too, a form of colour therapy.

Anyway, I hope my vision of my time on this planet can give you all some form of joy.

Beautiful Butterflies

As you can see I have carried on the summer theme and decided to paint a couple of butterflies. For me butterflies epitomise fragility and beauty  as well as grace. I see the butterfly as a metaphor for freedom and the human potential. We have the ability to achieve greatness and contribute magnificently towards this planet, making our environment a splendorous place to live, something to be cherished.
Here are two of my butterflies with their stages of development. They are 5” x 5”acrylic on canvas. I hope you like them. As always they are up for sale and you can email me if you would like to purchase them at arimasarts@gmail.com .
As usual take care and live life to the fullest.

Love and Peace

Walk Through the Poppy Field

Hi everyone, here is the latest addition to my paintings collection. The sunshine has inspired me yet again to do another summery painting using acrylics.

This painting reminds me of walking through the countryside on a warm summers day with the bees buzzing and the sweet smelling grass waving in the warm breeze.  Many days have been spent with the family just chilling out relaxing under the sun watching colourful butterflies fluttering past the vibrant  flowers scattered across the fields of green.

Whilst I was painting this I decided to add a fair maiden, rather like the Jane Austen's  character  of Elizabeth Bennett in 'Pride and Prejudice', who loved walking through the countryside.  I could imagine her strolling, without a care in the world, through my poppy field, enjoying her own company and taking pleasure in her surroundings.

Back to earth, here are the stages of my painting called 'Walk Through the Poppy Field', acrylic on canvas, 10" x 8", varnished. Email me at arimasarts@gmail.com, if you would like to purchase this masterpiece :)  Enjoy....

Love and Peace

Blue bells

Hey everyone, just finished a few small paintings recently, inspired by the lovely sunshine we have been having over the past few days.

The first one here is called 'Bluebells', a simple painting which projects a feeling of childhood fascination, that we have all experienced as children, trying to understand our surroundings and the wonder of nature. Here is a poem authored by my son. I hope it brings back fond memories for you.

How I long to daze beneath bluebells fold,

with caterpillars wriggle by my wrinkles old,

and recall the days when youth was me.

When summers clouds carried songs of glee,

and butterflies wings gave colours vivid,

to daub the gardens in fancies too livid.

When mothers cakes filled noses with splendour,

and brothers mud filled spirits with wonder.

How I long to daze beneath bluebells fold,

when the world was a story, not yet told.

How I remember those flowers, those somersaults I rolled.

Now a distant memory in my life turned old.

Well back to my painting, here it is in stages, have a gander....

Acer Leaves

I have not had much time this week to do a large painting, due to family commitments. However I managed to do a small one which took me around five hours. I painted the leaves of the Acer tree that grows in my garden. It is one of my favourites especially when you see the leaves against a beautiful azure sky. If you remember a few months back I did a blog on it. Here is a link to the blog below:

So here you are folks, the different stages of the painting. It is for sale, as are my other paintings, so if you would like to enquire about it or any of the other ones, please send a message to me via email, and I will answer your questions. My email is arimasarts@gmail.com

Oh, by the way I named this painting, 'Acer Leaves'. As always take care, until next time…

 Love and Peace.
